This a reminder that (after a long remission) there will be a Geek Dinner tomorrow (Thursday) night at Tucanos. Pretty pricey, I know. But we are getting a discount, and there will be a sinful amount of meat. :) Don’t worry my cheap (and poor) friends, I’ll be lobbying for you for next time.

This one should be a little different, and hopefully a little shorter. We’re playing with the “no presentation” format because they’ll be easier to plan and will allow more time for networking. Let me know what you think.

Afterward, we’ll head over to watch Superman. This is to make up for missing X-men, which (despite a lot of diligent footwork from Lars) didn’t happen because we were just too swamped to make it work. (I know that Superman Returns probably sucks compared to X-Men III, but it does beat The Break Up.)

I’m a co-founder and trustee of UVLUG, a local Linux User Group that will be holding elections soon. If you’re a UVSC student or are a member of the local Linux community here in Utah, you really should read this announcement and consider helping out. LUG leadership has been a great opportunity for me. I’ve learned a lot, met a lot of great people, and I feel like I’m a part of something cool. So can you!
