While I can’t quite agree with your choice (I know nothing about Mr. Baldwin, but I’ll check him out) I applaud you for voting based upon who you *want* in office, rather than voting for the lesser of two perceived evils.

@ Christer: You bother to vote because your vote is tabulated regardless. It may not directly affect the results of this election, but it does send an important message for future elections. Yes, it's mostly symbolic, but perspective candidates look at those numbers to help determine if they have a chance at unseating a corrupt incumbent. Current representatives also review the the numbers, and I suspect they "feel the heat" to the degree that we cast our symbolic votes against them.

The past four years have made me very cynical and I’m having a very, very hard time even understanding why I should vote at all. In Utah, as you said, my vote is only symbolic anyway.

The entire system and the weight of one mans vote over another (read: battleground states vs nobody-cares states) just makes me wonder why I’d even bother.
